In this Client Story, Caroline Patten, Head of Business Support, shares her first-hand experience with SoHR's impact on their operations. Why we chose SoHR
We used to do everything on paper, which was very inefficient and impractical, especially when we went into lockdown. We needed to modernise and look for an online HR solution that could meet our needs. We researched off the shelf products, but they were too rigid and generic for us. We have quite a few unique ways of doing things, such as our flexible work timetables and our annual leave policy. We also have to deal with TUPE transfers, which can be complicated and require different terms and conditions for different staff.
When we spoke to our IT service provider DPS Tech, they suggested So365 and their HR solution SoHR, which is a customisable system that works in SharePoint, which we were already using. We liked the idea of having something that was secure, integrated, and tailored to our organisation. We also liked the fact that SoHR was developed by a specialist Microsoft partner, which gave us confidence in the quality and reliability of the system.
How SoHR has helped us
SoHR has been brilliant for us.
It has made our HR processes much simpler and more accessible for everyone. Our staff can book their holidays, submit expenses, and view their HR information online within Microsoft 365, without having to log into a separate system or fill out any forms. They can do it from anywhere, which is great for our remote workers. Our managers can approve requests, monitor absences, and run reports with ease. Our HR team can manage all the employee data, contracts, appraisals, and training records in one place, view dashboards and generate custom reports.
But what makes SoHR really stand out is the flexibility and customisation it offers.
Working with So365, we have been able to tweak and change the system to suit our specific requirements and preferences. For example, we have added a flex module, which allows our staff to record their flexible working hours and balances. We have also added an acknowledgements module, which enables us to track the employee's acceptance of policies and procedures. These features are fully integrated into the system and look like they are part of the core functionality. Whenever we have asked for something new or different, Chris and the team have been able to deliver it quickly and efficiently.
Our experience of working with So365
We have been very impressed with the service and support we have received from So365. They have been very responsive, professional, and friendly throughout the project. They have listened to our needs and understood our business. They have never told us what we need, but rather asked us what we want and how they can make it work for us. They have never made us feel stupid or patronised us, even though we are not IT experts. They have always respected our knowledge and expertise in our field.
We also appreciate the fact that So365 is a Microsoft partner that specialises in Microsoft 365 solutions, and that the system is ultimately hosted and run by Microsoft. This gives us peace of mind that our data is secure and protected, and that we are compliant with data protection and cyber security standards. This also makes it easier for us to do our data protection impact assessments and to report to our board and funders.
